Monsignor Sabato “Sal” Pilato was named a Chaplain to His Holiness with the title of Monsignor by Pope Benedict XVI. He currently serves as pastor of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church.
Cardinal Roger Mahony appointed Msgr. Pilato to superintendent of high schools for the Archdiocese of Los Angeles and to the Archdiocesan Catholic Life Issues Commission.
Msgr. Pilato co-founded the Los Angeles affiliate of the Confraternity of Catholic Clergy, and was appointed to the national board of directors, and served as secretary and vice president. He is a founding board member of the Emerald Bay Alumni Association, where he served as camp director of the 700-acre Camp Emerald Bay on Santa Catalina Island.
